Cervical Cancer Screening
The Ontario Cervical Screening Program recommends that women who are or have been sexually active have a HPV test (very similar to a pap test) every 5 years starting at age 25. Regular screening should continue until at least age 70 or when advised by a doctor or nurse practitioner to stop.
A HPV test is a simple screening test that can detect the HPV infections that can lead to changes in the cervix that can possibly cause cancer. Call your family physician to make this important appointment or you can book online in our Nurses run HPV clinics.
