Telemedicine uses secure video technology to connect you directly with medical specialists and healthcare professionals who are located outside of our immediate area. A telemedicine appointment functions exactly like a standard, in-person clinical visit—except you see, hear, and speak with your specialist securely on a video monitor, eliminating the need for long, stressful travel.
How to Request a Video Consultation:
If you have been referred to an out-of-town specialist, psychiatrist, or other healthcare professional, ask them or your referring provider if your appointment can be scheduled via the OTN (Ontario Telemedicine Network).

Open to the Entire Community:
You do not need to be a registered patient of the East Wellington Family Health Team to use our telemedicine facilities! We are happy to accommodate outside guest appointments for anyone in the community requiring a secure OTN link.

How to Coordinate Your Appointment
Step 1: Confirm Specialist OTN Availability
Verify with your out-of-town specialist's office that they are able to conduct a virtual visit over the Ontario Telemedicine Network.

Step 2: Reserve Our Telemedicine Room
Once the specialist confirms availability, have their office coordinate directly with our clinic administration to schedule the hook-up time and secure our local telemedicine suite.
